Z4 - a big man's car???
Hey all -
I'm 6'4" and I'm keen to get a Beamer Z4 - question: would I be able to fit in comfortably? Cheers K3n |

I've taken one out for a test drive and I thought it was a little snug. I'm a couple inches shorter then you. Part of fitting in the car is also your dimensions other then your height. My legs are short (for my height) and I'm about 240 lbs (mostly in my shoulders) so judge from there.

Re: Z4 - a big man's car???
I am 6'1" with a 34" inseam. I have the seat all the way back and down. I feel like I am at the limit of comfort for this car. I don't get any leg support and my foot (size 12) sometimes presses both gas and brake pedal on this car (automatic) at the same time. I wish I had about 2" more to slide the seat back.
Also, my buddy who is 6'8" and 340 lbs was able to get behind the wheel of this car. Granted, he looked like he was driving a go-kart, but he did fit...not well, but he got behind the wheel. The top of his head was sticking above the windshield. You may just squeeze under the top when the lid is up. |

For the price, if you want a 2 door get a 330ci coupe or even better get a M3.

Big Man's car? YES
Buy the car. I'm 6'3" 210 lbs. and bought a Z4 three weeks ago and have not had a moment of buyer's remorse. The car is a kick and reminds me of TR 4 and Volvo P1800 adventures of years ago. While I'm watching for the first snowflake, when the Z will get garaged, in the meantime there's still been some top down weather to enjoy in the Northeast US.

Re: Z4 - a big man's car???
im a gangly 6'3 guy. Like the other guy said, its not your height so much as your demensions. I have long legs and a long torso as well, so i tend to get screwed in both leg room and head room in cars. The leg room in my Z4 is bearable. Head room is not even an issue, becuase the roof has a dome design to it. So even us big guys will not look goofy. I dont think room should be that much of an issue, because the Z4 is convertible, and most the time you drive it you don't have the top up, because chances are, if you own this car, its not your daily driver. So with the top down, you can sit up good, because i know as a tall person, i ten to slautch in a car seat to give myself more head room and not look dumb The Z4 is fine, my dad is 6'5 and i let him drive it and he didn't have any complaints
