I have had many problems with the vehicle ranging from intake manifold issues to transmission problems. I have never used a warranty or an extended warranty as much as I have with this car. Why don't I sell it? Again it is paid off, and I like it. When it runs well and it is polished it is a slick looking ride. You asked what could you do to make the Monte Carlo forum more noticeable. My suggestion is to include all up to date Technical Service Bulletins on not only the Monte Carlo but other vehicles as well. When I started having problems with my Monte I went straight to the internet to see if anyone else had had similar problems. You would be surprised how difficult it was to locate current information on mechanical issues and recent TSBs. Before writing this post I googled "Chevrolet Monte Carlo tsb" and then just "Chevrolet Monte Carlo." The AF did not come up within the first three pages of the search results. By including TSBs you could gain more attention to your forum. There are many of us car owners who like to have a clue of what is wrong with our vehicles before we take it to the mechanic so we have a chance of not being taken to the bank. I quickly figured out to own this car I would need the service manuels.
My boyfriend has a 97 monte LS and i have a 95 monte Z34. Since he got his a year ago, he replaced the transmission, and now his intake manifold is leaking. This is the second time that has needed to be replaced in a year. I have learned that montes have their problems and usually are the same thing from year to year. i dont know where you live, but Im sure there is either a chevy dealership there or a Napa store there. the intake manifold only cost us about 35 to 45 dollars for the part. So good luck with yours.

Re: What would it take?

I'd reccomend a Felpro gasket kit.

Napa carries them

Re: What would it take?

Umm, how about red?

A metallic silver would look good over red, and of course black over red is nice.

Edson I think your idea was completely ignored. Its a shame because it was a really good one. (Link edited by Moderator - no linking to other forums is allowed. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...uidelines.html has all the recall info and TSB info if you need it.

Re: What would it take?

I think it is a good idea too! Maybe there could even be a new section added just for TSBs.
