Imporved Gas Mileage

Hey all I went to auto zone the other day and installed this

I also put a can of this into my tank

And my gas mileage went from 15.9 to 19.2 and finally joined the happy camper club

None of your pictures are working! I'm very interested as we recently bought a 2003 XE and are fairly disappointed with the poor gas mileage. Can you provide names instead of dead picture links, by any chance?

Re: Imporved Gas Mileage

the first thing was added a tornado. I know a lot of the people on this fourm swears it doesnt work but if did for me. #2 was to add a can of B-12 Chemtool (you can find it at autozone) its a fuel injector cleaner. The third thing I did was remove the o2 sensors and clean them with brake cleaner.

Re: Imporved Gas Mileage

If the tornado is such an invention I wonder why Nissan wouldn't put it in as standard equipment since higher mileage would be a great seller for an SUV?

Re: Imporved Gas Mileage

I'm sure the B12 and 02 sensor cleanings were entirely responsible for any mileage improvement. The Tornado is absolute crap and really only helps on carbureted engine.
It's a $10 max piece of metal sold for a rediculous price. If it worked, every auto maker would install one at the factory like Schlud said.

Gas Milage

Just curious as to how many tanks you ran through before you came up with the improved mileage. Several things can affect gas mileage on a per tank basis. Even a good tailwind...

Re: Imporved Gas Mileage

i think i'll try that injector cleaner and cleaning the o2 sensors.. im lucky if i get 250 miles out of an over-filled tank im fairly new to the whole tornado thing- but even from other make cars/trucks everyone's said they're a waste of money

Re: Imporved Gas Mileage

i would get about 250 miles as well. Now the fuel light comes on at about 298 miles. as for the o2 sensors I removed them and sprayed them off with brake cleaner.
