1999 GLS Sonata rear brakes
I installed rear brake pads and rotors last year. The outside of the disc is not making contact with the pad. Its all rusted up. A few problems I’m having and was looking for some advice;
1. I’m having a hard time removing the rear rotors. Can anyone tell me how to release or back off the emergency brake? I would think it has a star wheel like any other brake shoe set up 2. I remember the pads were very difficult to install on the caliper, could they just be stuck or is it more likely the caliper cylinder is bad. Should the pads slide freely on the caliper rails when installed properly? |

Re: 1999 GLS Sonata rear brakes
both rear brake calipers are froze up solid - cant budge the piston. I was hopeing to rebuild them but i suppose they are beyond it.
I tried squeezing the piston back into the cylinder using a vice then tried pushing it out with a brass rod and wont budge. Time for new ones??? anyone experianced with these and able to offer any help? |
