2004 GTP 3.8L Not starting

Hello,
My 2004 Pontiac GTP Supercharger belt blew, and even after replacing it my engine will not start, it will turn over, but it does not start, there is no spark, as I have tried spraying starter fluid into the cylinders, and the engine did not even sputter, Any and all help would be appreciated, thanks!

It probably took out the crank position sensor when the belt failed.

Re: 2004 GTP 3.8L Not starting

It is throwing seven codes
P0030 HO2S Heater control circuit bank one sensor one
P0036 HO2S Heater control circuit bank one sensor two
P0135 O2 Sensor heater circuit bank one sensor one
PO141 O2 Sensor heater circuit bank one sensor two
P0203 Injector circuit/ open cylinder three
P0243 Supercharger Wastegate solenoid A
P0303 Cylinder Three Misfire
Would the crank position sensor being taken out throw a code?
Thanks again!

Re: 2004 GTP 3.8L Not starting

A bad CKP sensor should throw P0335.

I don't know how the other codes could result in a no-start. The cylinder 3 codes are suspicious. I would not suspect a no-start due to the O2S codes - maybe an emissions problem. Have no clue about the S/C code...maybe it could choke the air...?

On a crank-but-no-start without codes, I start by checking fuel pressure and spark. You said there is no spark because you put starter fluid in cylinder; not a definitive test IMHO. I would check fuel pressure with a gauge on the Schrader valve on the fuel rail as well as spark with an inline spark tester. Apparently, fuel pressure for a Series III should be 55 - 62 psi. You can check with key-on-engine-off. Check for spark with the inline tester while someone cranks the engine. Troubleshooting gets tougher if you have fuel and spark but no related codes.

Good luck.

Thank you for the input, checked fuel pressure and it was 60 psi, and is getting up to the injectors, but I am not entirely sure the injectors are working, have checked all fuses and relays, any other possible problems that I could be missing? Thanks again!

Re: 2004 GTP 3.8L Not starting

Spray carb cleaner into the intake, see if it tries to start, if so you have sprk. If not, no spark. You should see cranking rpms on a scanner if the cps and ignition module are OK.
