1998 S-10, 2.2L in Line 4 Cylinder.
Alright, well I am getting into the whole engine performance world. What I wanna do here, is figure out what I need to do to make some serious power from my puny 2.2L vortec. Most people would say just do an engine swap and make that much power for the same amount of money with no engine upgrades. But what I am looking to do here is have a project that I can learn off of. I have my basic knowledge of the engine itself and it is just terribly weak. I am willing to tear it down completely for what ever suggestions are given. Cams, Crankshaft, Head, Valves, Rod Bearings. I want to make some impressive power out of this thing and keep the original engine in it.

Making physical changes to a 2.2 is not going to add much horsepower to it.....it is what it is......

The only chance you have at making impressive power is by going with forced induction. Turbo would make a great power adder.
