2001 Ram tranny

I have a 2001 ram & started driving it yesterday with a heavy trailer . It started shuddering like it was missing. (bucking)after the trailer was unhooked it still does it around 39 to 43 miles per hr. Could that be a sensor or relay in the tranny? I dont think it is a tune- up as the motor revs without missing.No clunking noise on the drive shaft. The truck has 82,450 miles & was a trade in at the dealer. Maybe thats why it was traded in.

The bucking sounds just like missfire. When the torque converter slips or chatters. It will give you a real fast vibration feeling. A vibration that is like between wheel speed and engine speed. Maybe I'm not explaining well, but the tranny will not buck like that. Then again...Anything "does" happen.

You say the motor revs w/o missing. You need to rev the motor with a load on it. Hence, powerbrake/stall test. Even this will not always show your missfire as sometimes you just have to have a certain amount of throttle(load) against a certain amount of resistance(wind drag) And sometimes you can spray water(mist) on your spark plugs/wires at night and get a cool light show

The Ram I have listed is my bro's, just wanted to let ya know that his did the same thing, and now he is on his third torque convertor, good luck
