computer info (help)
Just wondering if anyone knows if a GPS vehicle tracking system can be added to or through the computer on my 98 dodge p/u.Seems to me a lot of people know my whereabouts shortly after I lent it to a now ex brother in law. Also it took him a long time to go where he said he was going and he had a very strange look on his face when he returned with it.Any info would be appreciated. Also any websites which could help.Gotta run out for a little while will check back later.

Gps Info
Yes some one can install a GPS tracker in your truck. It won't be connected to your computer but they can hide it anywhere and see where you go and have been..

Re: computer info (help)
Doing so without a court order (warrant) would be a violation of a number of state and federal laws. I'm not sure how you'd go about finding/detecting such a device, but it would not be very tiny. If it uses GPS, it would have to have an antenna module which can see the sky with no metal above it. If it uses some type of terrestrial positioning, then it could have a hidden antenna.
If you're under any criminal suspicion, then it could be done legally. Just watched a very similar situation on a documentary, and they caught a murderer with it (the GPS trail led them to the bodies). |
