Re: Recap of the English F1 fleet - Take 2...

Wonder where #15R will end up, hopefully the owner retains at least the full livery.

Keeping it race spec and actively tracking it would be nice too admittedly.

Re: Recap of the English F1 fleet - Take 2...

#15R ended up in very good - and somewhat obvious - hands. I've heard it will be sympathetically freshened up and will likely remain in race trim. Might resurface when the weather gets better.

I don't know if the British Motorsports show headline tripped you up, or if you simply put this here because #043 is now in the UK, but for the record in case anyone cares that show was held in Yokohama, Japan.

Ok, how obvious are those hands? Any word on price?

Extremely obvious now - price has not been published, but it was a big number.

Re: Recap of the English F1 fleet - Take 2...

If it really has the 96' Le Mans livery, it's I think the most historic one to have there. Also the racespec condition is plus I think. I wonder what was the price tag, road legal GTR's sold around 1,6 million £ (readed this somewhere those times or then I remember wrong), so allways can wonder the price this case.
BUT more important is that the car is good knowing hands now, GULF Collection is defenitely the right place to be.

Re: Recap of the English F1 fleet - Take 2...

I can say that more was spent purchasing that GTR than was the average price for an F1 road car at the time (beginning of 2012).

A couple of other GTRs also changed hands for similar figures within weeks of 15Rs sale. It was the first time in history that I am aware of GTRs trading for more than road cars generally had. Each of the three GTRs were in the hands of longtime owners and have very good provenance which adds to the justification.

Very interesting. Can you tell us which GTR's changed hands these weeks? And is there any news about their new locations?

My personal opinion is that if GTR has a good long race history with Le Mans: the value can be anything.....

Re: Recap of the English F1 fleet - Take 2...

Phil mentioned one of them here:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...4&postcount=75

The new owner of #03R is Christian Glasel who of course also owns #21R.

The other one remains off the record for the time being.

Anything else updates than GTR/LM look and head lights?

ERIK:
Do you know is the #03R BPR GT or Le Mans West livery, and propably 96 season's livery is the year of that livery?

Re: Recap of the English F1 fleet - Take 2...

It's still in its 1995 BPR livery - with the gold wheels and #8 on the side pretty much how it looked at Silverstone
