Renault laguna 1.8L 2002 modell stalling/choking.

Hi, my mother owns a renault laguna 1.8L 2002 modell and has asked me to see if i could help her fix her car, the problem is that right after you start driving the car for maybe a minute the engine starts stalling when applying the gas, we have to let go of the gas for a few sec and the engine recovers, it feels almost like if the engine chokes and lacks of fuel or air :/ i have replaced the lambda, O2 sensor to no success. ha anyone here experienced this problem before or got any idea as of what the problem could be ?

Best regards, laksen.

Re: Renault laguna 1.8L 2002 modell stalling/choking.

Has the car had a tune up recently, at least spark plugs, spark plug wires (if applicable), and fuel filter been changed? It sounds like it could be a misfire issue which often times are due to the items listed above.

Other things to consider would be the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor, Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor, and Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Have you checked for diagnostic codes? If no codes are present, doing a real-time datastream and monitoring multiple sensors when the car seems to be running well versus when it stumbles might point you in the right direction.
