Flush Cooling System of 1997 GMC Savana?
Hello All,
I have a 1997 GMC Savana. I have brown gunk in the radiator and it overheats when I'm towing my boat. I bought a Prestone 2 Radiator flush kit, but I'm totally lost as to which of the hoses I should cut for the fitting. I also can't find the drain cock. Any flushing help would be appreciated. |

The flush kit usually connects to one of the heater hoses.
1) Consider back flushing the heater core while you are doing the flush. 2) Clean all the derbis in front of the radiator, and air cond condenser. 3) Make sure your coolant fans are working proper! 4) Consider a new thermostat. |

Thanks for your response. I know that it attaches to one of my heater hoses. I just don't know which one. The "T" connector of the flush kit seems smaller than the house diameter coming out of the radiator. I would back-flush the heater core if I can figure out how to do the flush. Apart from watching my cooling fan spin, I'm not sure what else I can do, or how to do any other tests. I would definately replace the thermostat if I can get at it. Thanks, Jack |
