Common problems with 1996 R33 GTR
I am thinking of picking one up (really soon) from a private party.
What are some of the common problems on Skylines, specifically a 96 R33 GTR VSPEC. I've heard that the clutches are weak, the injectors are smallish (440cc), what else? Thanks |

Re: Common problems with 1996 R33 GTR
If you leave the car standard the factory clutch is fine. If you increase the power and try to launch it or hard shift it, your factory pressure plate isn't going to be up to the task. Increasing the spring rate will solve that to a point.
Yes the injectors are smallish factory. The same size as the R32 GTR 444's. I'm making @450hp with the factory turbos and injectors. The injectors are maxed out and so are the turbos. Turbos are ceramic exhaust wheels so pushing more than 16psi on a steady diet will kill them off. There is a big list but it depends on how radical you intend on going.
