Question Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?

I'm new to this site. Can anyone tell me how to post pics I have that are currently saved on my computer - either as a signature or in the body of my message? I don't have a website or anything, and I'm not the most computer savvy person...

Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?

Thats a beautiful 64 galaxie. If i can ever find a cheap one with the 390 i plan to buy it and restore it. Galaxies are my favorite classic car.

Hey Mr. RL,
I'm new to the forum, and this is my first post. And in response to your request, I would like to introduce you to Ms. American 3.14159, who is as far as I have been able to ascertain (and I've looked EVERYWHERE), if not the ONLY "1964 Ford Galaxie 500, Four-Door, Hard-Top, Fast-Back, Police Interceptor" EVER built, at least the only surviving example that you'll find if you Google the above words in quotes.

For more pictures than you probably want to look at click here:

http://msamericanpi.bravehost.com/galaxpa.htm

http://msamericanpi.bravehost.com/galaxca.htm

http://msamericanpi.bravehost.com/galaxen.htm

At the bottom of the first URL page is an explanation of the vehicle so I won't go into it here.

The JPGs of her were taken about two years ago, and she was in pretty rough condition due to my having been in a life and death struggle with health issues. But since the JPGs were taken, she has undergone an amazing transformation, and is currently being readied for a complete interior restoration starting with that from which I am at the moment taking a break, and that is the scuffing of the passenger compartment and trunk floors in preparation for their being coated with Hurculiner Bed Liner, a rubberized polyurethane technical coating.

And while it is not a Ford Galaxie, I also have another extremely rare vehicle, which is a "1967 Dodge Mail Van" named: Lorrie Van Haul, which when I did a Google search for her kind was informed that they were: EXTINCT! But I have one, and she is also in the process of getting put back to being road worthy, needing only Master Cylinder, and Slave Cylinder rebuilds, new hoses, new battery, and new wheels & tires.

For some JPGs of Lorrie, click here:

Anyway, comments or questions are welcome.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I'll check in on you all later.

JC Allison

Hey KG59,
Are you aware of Photobucket?

http://www.photobucket.com/

You can upload JPGs to your album there (you have to register and everything), then you can put the URL to your photo here, and it will post your JPG. Like this

BTW, this is a broken bolt in the Number One Cylinder Head Exhaust Flange in Ms. American 3.14159, the ONLY 1964 Ford Galaxie 500, Four-Door, Hard-Top, Fast-Back, Police Interceptor that Google can find on the Whole World Wide Web. I've cut a slot in it with a cut off wheel in a Craftsman Rotary Tool into which I can put a socket screw driver. I'm going to heat the ear of the flange to cherry red with an acetylene torch, and see if I can't get it to come out. If I can, GREAT. If I can't, then it on to Plan B.

Anyway, if you need any help with the Photobucket thing, let me know, and I'll see if I can assist.

Hope you are well.

JC

Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?

whoah........ drill a hole in the broken bolt (as big as possible ) and use the biggest Easy-Out that will fit. You can get MUCH more torque on it than a slotted screw driver.

But given your experience, perhaps that IS plan B.

Nice car though. I love those '60's Fords. They so totally look like retro-spaceships, especially the T-birds.

BTW, nice website, JC. It's good to have you on board here at AF.

Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?

Hmm, let's see if this works. I just added a pic of my Galaxie as my signature, so hopefully I did it right and it will show up below this answer.

Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?

I hope this works. If the pictures show up on here. The black and white photo is my original 63 Galaxie 500 2 door HT I bought in 1963. It had 3 on the tree, manual steering and standard brakes, 352 cu. in. 220 HP. Yes it would peel out from the stop lights. Owned it for 4 years. The red car with black vinyl top is the one I presently have owned for going on 24 years. Its a great driver with much restoration work done. It has a 390 cu. in Auto tranny, PS and PB.

Re: Can we see some Galaxie pics?

This is my 63 1/2, 390 cu.in. auto., PS and PB, Vinyl Top, spinner caps, and bumper guards front and rear and engine chrome dress up kit. Owned since Aug 87 and have logged close to 40,000 miles, thats miles not km. I had the pleasure of driving it while doing an on going restoration. The paint by now is about 26-27 years, so the red has faded, but there is no rust or bubbling coming through anywhere on the surface. Its an all round great driver. Been on many long trips and never get tired of driving in it. Going over railway crossings there's not a rattle, its very tight and solid.
