70+mpg Boxfish

'Fishy' 70-mpg diesel concept car unveiled

Excerpt:
Quote:
Combined city/highway driving delivers about 70 mpg, DaimlerChrysler said, while highway driving at 55 mph gets around 84 mpg.

I think I read somewhere else that it has a 0-60 of about 8sec and top speed of about 120mph. Ugly, but not bad.

VW has had the 3L Lupo on the road, getting this kind of mileage for years now, but I think this concept is larger, and certainly has better acceleration.

Re: 70+mpg Boxfish

meh, looks no worse than a honda insight. i think it's great that they have that. anybody know how much it'll cost when it comes out? and how does it compare with the smart car? i know the smart is practical for city driving because it's small, easy to park, and gets great gas mileage. so how does this compare in terms of fuel eficiency?

Electric or hybrid? 70 is pretty good for hybrids. But if it's electric I wonder how long you can drive it before you have to plug 'er in?

Re: 70+mpg Boxfish

That is seriously one of the ugliest cars ever. I'd love the gas mileage though.
