can I just put my 10 cents in Fly.
[10c] think it would be wrong to paint it in Gunmetal grey as I feel it would not highlight the kit well enough. Possibly try a lighter color.[/10c] |

Fly, you may want to try "light gun metal" it's somewhere between gunmetal and chrome silver. bet it would look tight with gunmetal wheels as well but thats just my opinion.
Tazdev, the carpet is achieved by using flocking material. you can find it on a bunch of sites in tons of colors. modelcargarage.com has some. you basically paint the part that you want in a flat paint that is the same color as the flocking and before the paint dries, shake some of the flocking material onto the wet paint. i use a tea strainer to break up the big pieces so that the flocking material goes down evenly. then you just wait for it to dry and shake off the excess. i usually do it all on a big sheet of paper so that i can catch what was not used and use it again on another project. Hope that helps. |
