00 Grand Prix GTP intermittent noise.

Can anybody tell me what is making this noise? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5EIPM2FA-A

I know it's not the Supercharger, PS, or any of the idler pulleys.

Sounds like a dry pulley bearing-- get under the hood and listen closely- could be idler or tensioner bearing- perhaps power steering pump or even a/c pulley bearing. Have someone hold rpm at critical noise making rpm and watch for vibration. Or sometime I use a 3 ft long rubber hose- to put next to each component and other end in my ear- works pretty good for isolating problem childs....should be able to feel the vibration with a stout rod as well.

That's what I thought also, but I switched out the only suspect idler pulley and that wasn't it. It's frustrating because as of right now, it doesn't consistently do it. It's intermittent and usually doesn't act up long enough while in park to chase it down.

May have to remove one belt at a time to isolate it...

Yes, at this point I've given up and just turn the Radio up when it does it. It won't continue to do it long enough to isolate it, so I'm pretty much forced to deal with it until it breaks/worsens.

Re: 00 Grand Prix GTP intermittent noise.

Just realized I never updated with the Fix. This ended up being the AC Compressor Clutch/Bearing, so I replaced the whole AC Compressor with a Delphi unit.
