2005 Kia Sportage problems
Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone here could help me torubleshoot some problems I see to be having with my 2005 Kia Sportage.
About 2 weeks back, I had the old changed...it was unfortunately 10,000 miles over, my significant other failed to inform me I was the one in charge of taking them in for oil changes so that's great. Today I took it to work and right when I pulled in and put the car in park, it made a grinding noise and died. When it died, white smoke started coming out from underneath the hood. I double checked the oil levels to make sure there wasn't a leak there or anything and it all seemed fine and I noticed it was low on coolant so i filled that and tried to start it again, there was no bubbling or moving of the coolant so I'm not sure what could be wrong with it right now. I'm praying it isn't a head gasket because I really don't want to deal with that...any ideas? |

Re: 2005 Kia Sportage problems
If you can't repair it yourself I would have it towed to a garage of your choice and get an estimate. It could be anything from a blown heater hose to head gaskets.
Advanced Auto and Auto Zone have a loaner pressure tester. Pump it up to 12psi and look for leaks. If no leaks are noted start engine and run with 12 psi on the tester if the needle pulses you have a bad head gasket. |
