Re: insuring a skyline

I got my insurance through Progressive for the value of the car. Paid only 340 and some changes for 6 months. But then i am 38 and have a clean driving records. My Ferrari was only 750 for every 6 months. Make sure you tell them it is for pleasure and have high deductables.

Re: insuring a skyline

only 340...thats an ass ramming compared to what you can insure other cars under. my friends STi is costing him $300 a month, and its got 25 horses on the skyline, as well as an even 50-50 torque distribution. its not so much the sports part that rapes you for insurance, but the exotic label.

Re: insuring a skyline

Yes. Also the police will most likely stop a Mustang over a WRX.

Because the cops know they can catch a mustang.

Re: insuring a skyline

cops know they can catch skylines too. those crown vic's are supercharged. they have loads of power because they need to be able to catch cars with v8's and ish like that.

Umm, not unless your local police had aftermarket superchargers installed on their cars. The Crown Vic Interceptors barely have more power than the ones you can pick up at the dealer. They do, however, have heavy duty suspension, electronics, and tougher interior(ex: vinyl seats).

The police-spec Caprices were basically the same as the Impala SS you could get, though they likely had the tougher components as well.

Well, the Crown Vic isn't available with a V6. The current Chevy Impala is, however, from the factory. The police units probably use the Impala SS engine(supercharged 3.8L V6 with 240hp), with police-spec suspension, electronics and interior.

City cops here have normal Vics, County has Superchared, and the GSP has Uber-Charged. I aswell as my friend have outrun/manovered the City and County, but niether of us will mess with the GSP.
