Replacements?

If a Mclaren is crashed (beyond repair) should another be built in its place?
Not counting the lm's only the gtr and road goin f1's with or without the highdownforce kit. I personally think they should but it should not take the # of the mclaren that was crashed.

Re: Replacements?

What would be the point? The value would go up slower because the amount would always stay the same.

Re: Re: Replacements?

Finally some controversy. But y just cause of the value that y you wouldn't want it to be placed. and the other thing is im say the car that was (totaled) its counter part the second car being built would be exactly the same as the 1 that was totaled color and all. I'm not saying that they should build 5 in its place but just the 1 to replace but.. then again the more that crash the more they are in CA$H.

Is this forum just too boring for you since we aren't always going back and forth arguning with each other over this and that like most other car forums on the web?

In my mind, the great thing about this forum is the open flow of information between a great group of people who love the F1 and want to learn as much as possible. Occasionally we have differences of opinion, but for the most part its discussed on the level. I see no need to stir the pot with a little controversy - we have a good thing going here, why mess it up.

Anyway, if your looking for those types of discussions I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Hey, I'm all for anything that would keep the number of F1s from dropping lower than it already is, regardless of what it does to the value. I think if McLaren did that, it would be great. Too bad they don't.

I just ignore it - it's actually not so bad in the main forums, but when you get down to their indie forums for each specific car model it can get horribly bad. I see that Stratoraptor tries to fight the good fight on occasion in those forums which relate to the F1, but there are just so many juveniles or complete idiots in there it can get kind of tiring trying to share accurate information.

Yes your absolutely and that is y I joined A.F im not afraid to admit it I don't know everything but 1 person might know something I don't and I might know something they don't and thats y we join forums however its not a bad thing to have controversy. But there are some Ass-O's on A.F do push thing to far which pisses me off. When people are kno their wrong and they keep arguing thats what ruins forums Ass-O's like that.

But anyway I think if a Mclaren is completely totaled they should build another and by that I mean the exact same color and all. Because what were to happen if all road goin f1's were all destroyed then what the number is bound to decrease eventually. I mean just look at the incident in S.A with the black SLR. Thank god the cars fine which I must say is a very big astonishment I never new C.F was actually that strong. Anyway I made this post so people can say there "opinions". There is no fact even though as stated by Mini that mclaren dosent make them anymore.

Why should they? The legacy will always live on. Why should they reproduce a car?

I know if I had a Mc and totaled it I would have gone mad if they werent able to at least help me get another one!

I'm actually both for & against reproducing a Mc.

But, it's a really pointless discussion as I seriously doubt McLaren would ever consider something like that!

Come to think of , what if U crash your LM or GT?
Do they repair it, or is it lost forever.....

Re: Replacements?

Well, jcsaleen, you have your opinions, and that's fine.

Even if McLaren Cars are able to produce more F1s, I just think they shouldn't, because the McLaren F1 is a limited marque. McLaren only built 100 F1s (the exact number may vary according to your opinion/sources etc.), and I think it should stay that way. The McLaren would only be "another" supercar if they kept production. If we bring back more McLarens, why not bring back more F50s, XJ220s, 959s?
