I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey that needs new tires after only 32000 miles. They are run-flat tires. My tire dealer says I cannot just buy new run-flat tires; ...

I would just forget about the run flat tires and go to a good tire shop and get a good set of tires.

Exactly. That's what I would do. I saw that article in our local paper a couple of weeks ago and was surprised at the cost. I'd like to add that you also will need a new set of rims as the rims for the run flats are special as well. If you plan on keeping the vehicle for a long time and don't care about run flat tires, then the cost of a new set of rims and regular tires would be worth the extra cost in changing over. The initial cost may be high, but remember the longer you keep your vehicle, the lower the cost becomes on a per year basis. Plus the regular tires should last longer too.
