2011 Impreza 2.5i Premium

I’m looking at a 2011 Impreza 2.5i Premium with 67k miles as a replacement for my totaled out Mazda 3. Anything in particular I should be looking for now, or in the future. I seem to hear a lot about the engines, but at the same time I see tons of Subarus running around.

Re: 2011 Impreza 2.5i Premium

Many of these engines have will have headgasket issues, the later ones like 2011 maybe not. Believe headgasket issue will show up close to 100K mile mark, about the same time as timing belt/water pump change. Imprezas starting with 2012 model year don't have the headgasket issue(different engine), but some have valve spring problems to fixed via recall.

subaru sells a additive you can add to the radiators to help prevent the leaky head gaskets
