94 Acclaim 3.0 code 34
Hi,
I have a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim 3.0 v6 with 145,000 I keep up with all tune up and maintenance items. Wires, plugs, cap, rotor, coil, gas filter are new in the past 6 months. In the past week a problem has occured that I can't pinpoint. The car runs great on the highway but when it idles and driving around the city it hesitates and wants to stall. It does stumble and stall occasionaly. It sets a code 34. The throttle body is cleaned every other oil change. The idleing and stalling makes me think it is a bad IAC motor but not sure if that would set a code 34. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: 94 Acclaim 3.0 code 34
My car was doing the same thing, but then I looked at the engine code more carefully. The blinking cadence is kind of ambiguous, I finally realized that I actually was not getting a code 34 (which didn't make sense anyways), I was getting a code 12 and then a code 13. The vacuum line to the MAP sensor was fine, the connections were fine too. After replacing the MAP sensor the stalling/skipping problem went away and it runs better. I hope this helps.
