Re: two questions

i did that once to actully but i did not spin totaly around, i went sideways for about 40 or 50 feet down the middle of the road, then i managed to fling it the other way and straiten it out, it was raining and my tires were fairly bald. i plan on keeping the boost down to like 8 or something like that mabey even lower. when i drive it. but like i said its going to a show car manly, but i also want to have bragging rights in my town. more then like lee i will never race it, i dont even want to take it out to the track right now. but like i said i want to say "you aint got shit on me" and how much hp do you think im realy looking at, at like 8psi and the max 15psi, and just motor hp thanks.

Re: two questions

Pimp,

Just lookin out for ya, that's all.

That is a lot of power, even without the boost. I never play the power numbers, its does not mean crap. Dynos are for tuning, not my number is bigger than yours BS. At least that is my take on it.

I agree with skyline. Pimp, not to be a jerk but it sounds like you have recently gotten into the performance side of cars. The part about the gears is if you have higher number gears (4.10) the car will launch like hell or take off QUICK!! If you have lower number gears (2.73) the car will be slower off the line, you won't reach redline as quick, your mph should be a little higher, but you get better gas mileage. A good gear for most mustangs on the street are 3.73. You can still get good performance with 3.55, but 3.73's are a good all around gear if you plan on street/strip driving. If you drive the car mostly on weekends or at the dragstrip I'd say what the hell and go with 4.10's. With slicks 4.10's will snap your neck pretty good!

SORRY, I TYPED THAT FIRST MESSAGE AFTER ONLY READING THE 1ST PAGE. Anyway, Pimp you should listen to skyline and....crap what's the other guys name...boost I think? They are right. Besides you just want to show, beat ricers, and some track time, just the basic bolt ons for a good running 5.0 and say 3.73 gears will get you around 300-350hp(depending on the quality of those bolt on parts). In a 5.0 300-350hp will get you down the 1/4 mile in mid 12's-mid 13's. Ofcourse that all depends on YOUR DRIVING ABILITIES, AND SUSPENSION=TRACTION!! I FEEL LIKE I'M READING STAR WARS 3. We have 2 Jedi Masters telling Anekin to be patient, and not abuse or be in a hurry to obtain such power! It's true though Pimp, take your time and "USE THE FORCE" and don't waste $$$$$$

Hey Pimp, I'm confused, you say you only want to mainly show the car and have enough power to play around with and beat ricers. But you keep wanting the most out of everything like. Can't blame you for that I guess. If you are kind of new to the performance thing checking out the websites are good, but you should also buy two magazines, Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, and 5.0 & Super Fords (no I do not work for them, wish I did). These 2 magazines deal with the newer mustangs (80-05). I said in an earlier post that with 2.73 (factory/stock) gears that your mph would be higher, I meant that your top speed would be higher not that your mph would be higher in the 1/4 mile. You'll get to the higher mph quicker with 3.73's. For the trans. I would stick with the stock T-5, but have it beefed up. The T-5 is good for a stock 5.0, but if you plan on doing more the stock T-5 5spd. is kind of weak. If you plan on having around 325hp or more and 350torque or more than I would get a Tremec World Class or Tremec TKO trans. They're basically the same as a stock T-5 5spd. but can handle alot more power and torque. Don't quote me but I think they run about $1500-$1800. They should bolt right up with no problems. I don't know anything about the Viper trans. sounds expensive and I don't know if it would bolt in w/out any problems or not. Your rpm's with 3.73's, again don't quote me but they should be around 1700 rpm at 65mph and with 4.10's is only around 200 rpms higher. I haven't had a 5.0 for five years. Wish I kept it, I sold it to by my cousins 65 fastback (fun, cool, but NO 5.0!!!!). Anyway I hope I helped. Any more ?'s just ask. SORRY FOR WRITING A BOOK GUYS.

Its a T5 World Class , but very good advice giddyup.

Pimp,

If you plan on running a lot of torque, do not run a rear numerically higher (lower gear) than 3.55.

I'll let you do some leg work, what is the gearing of a Viper 6-speed (T56)? You can get a TKO with a .62 5th, which is the same as the 6th gear of the T56, except the 2003 and up Vipers, which has a .72 (or.70 some where around there) 5th, and a .50 6th.

You can have a list of the best parts in the world, but if they don't match you'll end up with a car that is complete crap to drive. I am glad you're asking the questions, but try to do a little research, cool?

Just remember at one point in time, none of us knew the difference.

No man I understand that, it's just the whole nature of the thread.

Dude comes in saying "I wanna build a car that can do 1000hp and blow ricers away, I want to make it a turboed 393/427/Big Block of your choice vehicle and money is no object, I'm gonna turn my own wrenches on this one, etc etc. oh BTW what's a Cam?"

LOL see what I mean?

Re: two questions

Oh that part, yes I see what you are talkin about.

His questions are a lot like what my son will ask me. My son has no idea, but I am trying to give him one. Like this kid, I really doubt he has the cash for any of this, but he needs to learn its the marriage of parts that make a car, not just a list of parts that make a car.

Hey Sky, I know the stock T-5 is built by Borg-Warner, but I thought that both the world class and the TKO were built by Tremec(or T-5 just with Temec beefed up parts)? Is the world class made by Tremec or another company? I love the blue 5.0 you have in your pic. The black car you have also is pretty cool looking, but I'm not sure what it is, looks like a Mercedes (not sure). Please let us know what that car is, even if it's not a Ford it still looks cool!! THANKS

Hey Pimp, don't take it too hard. You have to admit that you set yourself up for that kind of stuff though. I'm not saying that it's ok to make fun of you for that. But we're guys and that's what we all do right? Hell, in my family if you don't get made fun of atleast once at a family cookout, that means no one loves you. So I guess that means the guys in here consider you family. Anyway just checkout those two magazines I told you about(MUSCLE MUSTANGS & FAST FORDS, 5.0 & SUPER FORDS) and you'll do fine. Just do your research before you spend your money. What are your friends into? Are they into Mustangs, Camaros, Trans Ams? Ask them for help also, even if they're into the damn ricers, it's all pretty much the same. Unless they are into Daewoo's and Yugo's, then you're out of luck. C-YA
