Fuse Box Under hood - 1990
Hi All,
I am looking for the fuse box or circuit relays under the hood. I have a black box on the drivers side fenderwell, right in front of the master brake cylinder, but I have no Idea how to get into it. Is this even what I'm looking for. I've checked the haynes manual, but it doesn't give a lot of detail. This black box breaks into 2 peices, with seperate wires into each peice (smaller breakout peice has coloured wires) bigger l shaped peice has a black wire headed into it. Is this what I need? If so how do I get into er? |

Model year will determine where to find fuse block.
1991 and earlier - fuse block is located on driver side under dash. 1992 and later have two fuse blocks. One under instrument panel on left side of dashboard. The second is in engine compartment next to battery and houses high current fuses. The assembly near brake fluid reservoir contains relays (fuel pump, etc) What are you trying to fix??? |

Door chimes and nothing else
THis car is driving me nuts! 1990 Grand Marquis, all power options. When i fiddle with the high beams and the heat is on, after fiddling for a bit (or normal use over extended time) car starts shorting out. When it does, no interior lights, no ignition, no starter nothing. Can't even start the car with + to the solonoid. When its like this is won't start for a while, and then all of a sudden it will. Someone said it could be the multifunctionn switch, but wouldn't the car be able to start again? As a new update, if I put my key in, the door chime works, but nothing else..., if I put it too acc, the door chimer sounds like its choking on something. This is of course with the door open. With it shut nothing happens. PLEASE someone help, I can't afford to buy another car

Woodsnake, have you tried replacing the multifunction switch yet? It's $70 and 1/2 hour to install.

Did you ever figure out what was the problem in this instance? It sounds exactly like the problem I'm having with my 97 Grand Marquis. Thanks.
