1995 LeSabre engine revving (Accelerating)

Fix one problem and another appears. Driving down the road today the engine starts revving (accelerating), the tachometer climbs to 2500 then goes back to about 1500. Car is speeding up and slowing down and my foots not even on the accelerator. Come to a red light and while stopped the acceleration starts, put car in N and Rpm's jump to about 3500. Just fixed the hard starting with replacing a bad vacuum line on the pressure regulator and replaced the ICM which corrected to bucking. Now What? Appreciate all the help being provided

Re: 1995 LeSabre engine revving (Accelerating)

I don't know how much the 95 differs from the 2001 but recently fixed a similar problem. It was a bad idle air control valve (IACV) which is on top of throttle body. But it could be other things. With the, car running and park with parking brake on, Check the throttle linkage and springs to ensure no binding and smooth operation. Push on the throttle plate to close it to see if that makes a difference. Search forum for checking and chasing iacv.
