i think the gas tax should only apply to real cars ,so that would exclude ford and all of its products in having to pay a gas tax,and by the way, porshe, mercedes benz and that three letter word BMW ,their high performance cars do have a gas tax,mb has their amg division, bmw has motorsport, and ford has tinkertoy

Ford does have FPV and it’s a bazillion times better than SVT ever was. But it’s just too bad we won’t see that quality in non R cars here in the US. BMW does have the ///M badge and what we get here in the US is great but it isn't the same as what they get over there. Overseas markets seem to get the better cars but they also have a lot more crap cars than we do here.

With Ford being up to their eyeballs in dept thanks to the recent $23.5B loan the only thing that’s going to happen is maybe a good concept or two such as the Lincoln MKR and a weak product line. The MKR which will be introduced at NAIAS is said to be based on the Mustangs S197 platform, have the lost IRS out of the Cobra mule, as well as a variant of the 3.7 liter twin-turbo direct-injected DOHC V-6 engine that is being developed for the upcoming MKS.

The MKR, Ford Interceptor (the Ford S197 4 door aka 4door mustang), and IRS for the Mustang wont be seen thanks to this dept. Instead, the 2010 Mustang will get some new sheetmetal, and will receive the 6.2 V-8 as an option. That’ll create some excitement, match the Challenger and Camaro engines, and the minimal development investment will carry the car until the Australians come to the rescue later in that decade.

Re: 2006 Shelby GT-H

i love mustangs. As a previous 99 Cobra owner i have to say that i really do not like the new styling of todays mustang. The new cobra is a well powered car, but the body and interior are just poor attempts to recreate an old body style. The corvette is a very aged car but they seem to recreate it perfectly everytime. You can always tell it's a vett, yet it screams new age engineering. Personally theres no way i'd pay that kind of money for a new cobra or even a GT.
