99 cutless Gl headrest ?

Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me if the headrests on the front bucket seats come off? I'm looking into buying some custom seat covers and would imagine that you would have to get the headrest off to install the cover right. How do you get them out, just pull real hard? Thanks for any info!

Re: 99 cutless Gl headrest ?

FYI. I'm moving this post to the GM N Body forum, Appearance section. Maybe someone has an answer there for you.

Re: 99 cutless Gl headrest ?

On most GM cars such as a N Body like the '97-'99 Cutlass, you should be able to remove the headrest. Pulling hard won't help because there is a stop. There should be two round plastic retainers on each leg of the headrest at the top seat cushion. To the inside of each is a plastic tab insert. If you remove that you should be able to get the headrest off. Look closely because the tabs are easy to miss.

You're welcome. Your original post was in the right area. So you were OK. Because you did not get a timely response I moved it to the new N Body forum which is optional. So now members have a choice of the regular Cutlass forum or the N Body forum. It is your choice.
