Anyone know if I can use my stock Stereo

I have a 2001 Saturn SL2 with the stock CD player. I really like the stock CD player (that and I can't afford and aftermarket one) and I'd really like to put subs in. I have two questions. 1) Does anybody know if my stereo has rca jacks in the back of the CD player? 2)If i don't they have the thing that splices into my rear speaker 2 more question here 1)Has anybody use those 2)Do they work well. i heard that they sound crappy Thanks

Re: Anyone know if I can use my stock Stereo

1. most likey it does not have RCAs out.
2.It's called a Line output Converter (LOC)
3. The cheap ones will sound cheap, a quality one will sound good.

david navone makes good LOCs www.davidnavone.com

You could use:
N-7V if your amp has a crossover on it (nearly all do) and you may add a door speaker amp later
N-85V if you will only ever add subs (no door speaker amp)

my vote would be the full range N-7V

I tapped into my stock headunit and used an audiocontrol EQL - it has a built-in LOC. I took first or second in all of the competitions I entered, I outplaced cars with big cost stereos. Just be careful, some factory headunits have some severe EQ curves built-in.
