230 Carb

I'm rollin' a '70 4 dr. ITs got the 230 3.8 Inline Six in it. The carb is spraying gas just about everywhere. Its obviously a pressure relief valve. Now the problem is, I don't know where to get one with the exclusion of going to the dealership and paying 3.1 mil for it, or a junkyard that doesn't seem to have anything that matches up.

Any Ideas? I need to get it running by thursday...

Re: 230 Carb

I figured the tranny fluid to be low as well. After I got my 71 Nova started and running yesterday, it would not have enough power to move so i put about three qrts of fluid and some lucas stop leak in it; it did pick up and not lose power and shut off when i got on the gas. It had been sitting since 1990.

Re: 230 Carb

So Maybe I am an idiot, but adding tranny fluid should stop gasoline from shooting out of my carb???

Re: 230 Carb

sorry about that guy, l didn't really paymuch attchen to read ur full note.

the fuel spray from every part on the carb????
could be just a bad hose or a gaskit.
so far as l know my 250 sprays bita gas after a 3hour run but l figured it was normal call me crazy.

ummm........checked ur float bowel gaskit??
ur carb to intake gaskit..................all l can think of its a gaskit or a loose brokin connection OR a blocked Carb Jet Port
