Question 2004 unknown wire in 4.0 plenum

A friend has a 2004 Ranger with a 4.0 engine that he is replacing the head gaskets on. When he took the intake manifold off he found what looks like a coax cable under the manifold that had been chewed apart and doesn't know where it goes to.http://staticaf.com/vbulletin/images...s/confused.gif Does anyone know what this wire is for? He said it looks like a TV cable that has an outer braid and a center wire. He didn't tell me what the diameter of the cable is. Thanks for any info.

Re: 2004 unknown wire in 4.0 plenum

Update: I just went and looked at the Ranger and it turns out the cable has two wires, a black and an orange wire, inside a black jacket. There is a connector on the front right corner (from drivers seat) of the intake manifold that this cable plugs into. The other end of this connector goes into the harness on the passenger side of the engine.
