HELP!!! Power Window problem - joys of buying a used car
Two weeks into my new "used" 1990 325i, the power windows stoppped working. I had them down overnight and went to put them up this morning and the fronts went up but the backs did not. I then went to put the fronts back down and they did not go down. It's a 2-door with no controls in the back for the back windows. The "Automatic Circuit Breaker" button positioned in front of the passenger controls in the center console area seems operable but does nothing. The manual indicates that this button and a "fuse" protect the electric window motor by tripping in event of a fault or overload. Well I then referred to the page in the manual for fuses to see what fuse position # was listed for the power windows and did not see power windows listed. I called the BMW service department and they said there should be one located in the fuse box. They also mentioned something about a relay needing to be reset. To me, it seems they were not real sure.
Does anyone know if in fact the 1990 325i has a fuse in the fuse box for the power windows? If yes, would it be identified as that? If no, is it located somewhere else? If there is in fact a relay, were would that be in order to reset that? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 |
