Re: power steering

Check the power steering lines and the boot at the end of the rack and pinion. If any fluid comes out of the boot, your rack needs to be replaced.

How many miles?

See R&R procedure below at our Tips & Maintenance forum. Same for the '04 and up models.

Re: power steering

I used it too and it doesn't work. I would return it for your money back. He's just trying to sell to make commission.

Matt, how did yours end up turning out?

Ok. The first one was garbage so I took it back and they put in a new one. This one is about 99% as good as the original. It's not quite as smooth, but it's so slight, it's not worth doing anything about it.

Re: power steering

yeah, I'm not sure why replacement ones could have issues. Seems like valving was off on mine or something. Just junk.

Re: power steering

Well the leak was from the power steering hose. the mesh around the metal made the metal rust and thus leak. My friend (mechanic) cut the hose from one end to the other and replaced it with rubber transmission hose and clamps so far no problems. as always i love you guys always willing to help
