89 suzuki sidekick

i have an 89 suzuki sidekick and i was needing to know if it is the 8 or 16 valve version. the motor is a 1.6. my timing belt broke and i want to see how much damage i did.

if its a 16v it would say "16 valve" on the valve cover and cam gear cover

89 had the 8 valve motor, 16 valve didn't appear until 92
