What color is this?

Going to start my S2000 in a matter of days. I want to paint it the color of the car in the picture. What tamiya spray can/cans are close to this? I was thinking like one coat of TS-30 Silver Leaf and then top that off with a few coats ofTS-19 Metallic Blue or TS-15 Blue. But I was not sure on how to get the closest match of Suzuka Blue from tamiya laquers.

Yea would be a good idea.. but with Silver Leaf (TS30) undercoat)

or go to your local Car shop that do paint and ask for this color, they will do it (it's what I do usualy when I want a perfect match)

TS 58 Pearl Light Blue looks extremely close to the S2000 color, if not exactly. I think it's a match for a light blue on a Honda Fit, and after spraying it on another convertible I'm nearly convinced it's the same color as the S2000...which I really don't like in light blue, but that's beside the point!

BTW, it covers pretty well, you can spray it over white primer and you won't have any color depth issues-no need to spray it over silver leaf, after a couple coats it won't matter.

Re: What color is this?

yea Pearl color are great.. I never used the blue one, but the Red was good. need a smooth base color (if you have putty, you need a good primer coat)

Re: Re: Re: Re: What color is this?

Thanx for all your help everybody. I did a search on Pearl Blue and it looks very close. Yet I have looked at this car in person (my aunts car) and it does look a little metallicy. So I think I have decided on White Primer, silver leaf undercoat and Pearl Blue finish coat.

Sure.. my airbrush is dead for a while now.. I paying a bit more to have it in spray can (usualy cost me 20$Cnd for a big can (ok for 4 or 5 model, not that expensive))

Only thing you need to know for modelling, if the guy ask you if you want clear in the same spraycan, say no.. that will hurt the plastic real bad.. use a clear spray can (duplicolor or something) insted.

you can look on my gallery, I have few model with Sunset Leman (orange) paint from Nissan (Ferrari, Altezza, Subaru)

Tamiya silver leaf comes in a spray can.

The gold leaf is totally unnecessary with this color (and could shift the color towards green), the pearl effect is similar to metallic, just slightly finer. It shows up very nicely, if you feel you must use a metallic undercoat use silver, not gold. This Porsche is painted pearl light blue over a Tamiya white primer base:

Re: What color is this?

I know your looking for tamiya sprays, but Dupli-color makes an exact match to that color. It is called Avignon Blue the code is 88-00905.
I'm waiting for my new camera to come in the mail so i can't show you a pic of the cap. Go to your local Autozone, Advanced autoparts, or walmart.
They are in the smaller 5oz paint cans, labled Import Auto Sprays.

If i can scrounge up a few batteries I'll take a crappy pic with my fience's cam and post it up.

I think I might jut have to buy that paint. My LHS only has Tamiya sprays up to TS-54. I dont know why. I asked the store manager and he said he has never heard of TS-58. So the Dupli-Color is probobly what I will have to buy...

Re: What color is this?

I had completely forgotten about taking a pic of the can durring af's downtime, but i'm sure if you go to any of the above mentioned stores they will have atleast 2 cans of the color.
probally going to be your best bet, and easy b/c you don't have to layer the colors. It's already a pretty close factory match to the honda color.
