College student looking to get an E30 or E46...
Soon here I will be receiving my dad's old tahoe. I've been given permission to sell it to buy a more fuel efficient car. After doing a little research on kbb I figured I have about $10k to play with.
That will get me plenty of car. I'd like a manual trans and only 2 doors. I'm looking for a car I can easily modify as well. The biggest issue is handling and acceleration out of turns (I live around a lot of twisty hill roads). For $10k, which would you get, an E30 coupe or an E46 coupe? Why? |

It's hard to find clean E30's these days and it's getting hard to get parts for them.
E46's on the other hand are a dime-a-dozen.

Re: College student looking to get an E30 or E46...
Other than an M3, the E30 isn't worth 10k. It seems to have become some sort of fad recently which has boosted its resale value but that doesn't mean it's really worth that much. In a couple years when people realize how low-tech an E30 is and that they could have been driving an E92 for the money they spent, they're going to be kicking themselves. The E30 is a $500-$2,500 car depending on condition.
