Bad wobble, 1999 corolla VE

My passenger side front wheel wobbles when I go past 60 MPH. The wear pattern on the tire is limited to the outside edge of the tire, but is not uniform. The inside edge is worn just like the rest of the tires, they were all bought new together.
I jacked up the front right end, and pushed on the tire to find that it shifts quite easily about 2 inches towards the front of the car, but only when I push on the forward part of the tire, as in I'm facing the tire and pushing on the right. The suspension assembly moves with it and bangs against the inside of the wheel well.
My question is what do you think is broken, and where can I find literature detailing how I would fix it? I'm going to go to a junk yard to pull the parts off an old corolla and fix it myself.

*update* I believe have solved most of, if not all of the mystery. The strut mount on that side is torn, allowing the shock absorber assembly to rattle around at the top. I'm hoping replacing this will solve the wobble problem.

Sounds like a broken strut mount and/or upper strut. The whole assembly will have to be removed to replace it.

You'll need a strut spring compression tool...if you have never done this be very careful! There's a lot of force stored in a compressed spring. Do this outside in a clear area...or better yet, take the assembly to the auto shop and have a pro replace it for you.

Finally, you're always better off replacing suspsension parts in pairs. And after you're done, have an alignment done on the car. Good luck!

Thanks alot! I'm rather short on cash, any chance I can get away with just replacing the strut mount for now?

If it's just the strut mount that has failed and the strut itself hasn't been damaged from it banging around, then you can probably get away with it. But an alignment is recommended after replacing any suspension or steering components.
