2007 3.9L DTC P0335 and 0336
Just had these trouble codes come up:
P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance P0326 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Range/Peformance (Bank 1 or single sensor) If you end up with these codes for any similar type chevy engine, I can suggest to check for corrosion between the crankshaft sensor and the engine block, which causes the sensor to be shifted slightly, but enough to mess up its signal. Since this is probably one of the most crucial signals the computer needs to have the engine run right (timing etc) this is not a good thing. You will end up with symptoms like loss of power (possible 'engine power reduced' notice on DIC), run rough or possible won't start. Its a nasty job to gain access to the sensor, so load up on patience, but once the sensor is removed the area under it needs to be cleaned/ground off perfectly flat. Old sensor may still be good, you could test it, but since your in there already why not put a new sensor in right? Just a few swipes with sandpaper will usually not do the trick, I needed to use my mini die grinder with a burr tip to carefully remove the build up of rust and then finish off with sandpaper. After repair, I cleared the codes and also did a Crankshaft Position Relearn procedure (have the Auto Enginuity laptop scanner which has these scanner features). No codes have return. I also heard this worked on Pontiac Montana van ( same engine). Hope this helps others..sharing the knowledge!!

Thank you for sharing. It may help someone in the future, and there are a LOT of 3.9 V-6s out there in various GM vehicles.

And if you can afford to replace it, do it.
