Honda Accord Coupe 1992 Transmission Prob

Hello I have a problem with my 1992 Accord Coupe :

The 'S' light is permanently on and the automatic transmission isn't changing gear.I can manually change gear but I only get 2nd and 4th.I have tried linking out the service connector to get a fault code , and the engine warning light comes on.

Where do I begin?

Re: Honda Accord Coupe 1992 Transmission Prob

I took out the Automatic Transmission Control Unit(situated passengers side under the carpet,,use a 10mm deep socket the remove plate) and found that resistor 41 + 42 had blown just like this persons:

I have tried replacing the resistors with 500ohms but it didnt work, then i linked them out with just wire and everything came back to life.I will have to play around until i get the correct values for the resistors because i dont want to leave just wires coz it may cause other problems.

So Honda wanted £550 for a new unit and they were out of stock
The scrappy wanted £60
I fixed mine for nothing :O))))
