Saleen S7 Top Speed!

You jsut can't beat the styling of the Lamborghini diablo. It's badass.:finger: Gotta love that top speed,too. The maclaren and s7 are great but i am still hooked on the Lamborghini.

the S7 is an amasing car 195MPH+ i believe (for the poll i choose the F1 but all of them r nice)

i think i like the new Mercilago better then the Diablo but thats just my opinion

Car and Driver tested it out at an unofficial (had to slow down due to weather conditions) 223 MPH. Undoubtedly, it can go faster, but yes, the street version will be governed at this speed. Also, with the poll; you left out the new Ferrari Enzo (the S7's only competition, in my opinion). The McLaren F1 which did the 3.4sec 0-60 is no longer street-legal since it can't pass emissions, so the crown belongs to either the Enzo, or the S7 both doing 3.3 in the 0-60. However, the Enzo was admitted to being tested on a slope which obviously helped the time. In defense of the V-12 though, the Enzo does 100MPH in 6.6 (with or without help of a slope), and the S7 pulls 100MPH in 7.6 seconds. The best one of the bunch, though is in fact the Saleen S7 since there is absolutely NOTHING that comes even close to a car that has a flat torque response...!

do remember this poll started in 2001, before the enzo was unvieled.

You have to give lingenfelter props for his cars though. His 1,100hp twin turbo corvette c5 hit a top speed of 230mph. I'd say that's damn good, and it's an american vehicle.

I found out from a C&D magizene that the Saleen S7 can go 227 Mph with 550 Hp

iv'e seen in some car magazines that the Saleen S7 can go to 200+mph but by the looks of it, it doesn't look like it would probably go 200+.

The jaguar definetly doesnt have the highest just cause its a 5 speed the lambo lol that things a joke. The f50 dont think has the capability to the s7 is around 220 the mclaren still is the fastest.

if you want to compare an s7 to a ferrari at least keep it within the price range of it like an 360 modena which would probably get took

Actually there aren't really any ferraris in the S7 price range (~$400k). The closest is the 575M which is within at least 150k, but you'd have to out of your mind to compare the two. The 360 modena is 250k below the S7, unless you talk about the 360 CS which is about 200k less. The Enzo is about 250k above the S7's price, so unfortunately no real comparison based on price can be made between the S7 and any ferrari.
