Re: 2007 Toyota Supra

The "supra" concept dubbed by some will mostly likely not carry that name badge if you are referring to the mid engined V10 concpet seen alot in those spy shots. That car i think was already named to be some kind of lexus due to the fact of the price. ALso what is you basis tha the new Infiniti/Nissian GTR sucks? Have you got to test drive personally? NO then lets no make descions on brand names, looks, prefrences etc....

Re: 2007 Toyota Supra

as far as i know, at the moment, toyota are running two conecpts through development.
one is the supposed and unconfirmed supra replacement. engine hasn't been decided yet nor hs the name.

the other is a hybrid sports car not much bigger than a current MR2.

thing is, both cars have been seen testing on the ring in cladding but once again, since both cars were heavily cladded, much of the rumuors have been serially attached. for all we know that might just be the next normal mr2 and a rolling chassis for an avensis.

Re: 2007 Toyota Supra

You mean the replacment for the MR2 i pretty sure last year or this year is the last for the mr2 due to poor sales. They should have dropped the 3s-gte in that and i grantee sales would have been better.

Re: 2007 Toyota Supra

i never understood why they never dropped in the 190 engine either; it's not as though the MR2's chassis can't handle more power.

well, that's just it.
at the moment, toyota internally are in a period of experimenting with various hybrid set-ups. For all we know, those cladded test cars might just be rolling test beds for the different set-ups and not for a production car. A few months back, a few magazines saw them on the test tracks and assumed with some nudging from "inside sources" that they were the modern supra and a new hybrid sports car out on testing. This was in conjunction with toyota promoting their Volta concept which was also about a year after they exhibited their open top speedster concept (at geneva? tokyo?)
it was all conjecture based on certain known facts (eg. toyota want a clearer connection between the road cars and their F1 program + their hybrid testing + lotus elise connection) but non-substantiated all the same.

yea but i don't think ford has ever stopped making Mustangs and if anything of Ford was a legend its was the ford gt, I mean it beat Ferrari what like 3 years consecutively. Yet they brought that back.

Re: 2007 Toyota Supra

OK guys, lets not get too carried away in here. The new "supra is most likely going to be the LF-S or LF-H name. The new GT-R looks absolutely amazing IMO and it will knock the doors off the last generation GT-R
