Re: revell Porsche Panamera.....and Junior 108

hey revell,
When I want to build a Porsche kit, I want a 911 turbo, gt3rs or gt4. I may want a Panamera to complete the collection. IMHO you may have picked the wrong Porsche to start but it is ok if you are going to do the other models.
Sincerely

I respectfully disagree, everyone expects a 911 or one of the 3000 variants of it out there. The Panamerica hasnt been done in 1/24/5 scale at all that I'm aware of. I for one am looking forward to this kit. I'd like to see a Cayenne as well. The other issue is not just picking a full size model to scale down for a plastic kit, its also licencing, and the cost of that licence back to the manufacturer. Havent seen any new Porches' lately that I can think of. Scale Auto was suppose to be putting out the new gen 911 GTLM car but I cant even find it on their website anymore.

That's certainly true-

But not all of those stories are equal. Or interesting.

I would much rather the story of a 944 or 914 (or a farm tractor) than a Panamera or Cayenne.

(Fortunately, Hasegawa's 944 is excellent....)

Re: revell Porsche Panamera.....and Junior 108

I agree that every Porsche has a story. I like to build Porsches like telling a story. I have a front engine story with 924/944/968/928. A long story with 911 from classic 911/73RS/930/Flatnose/959/964/993/996/997/GT3; I even custom made my own 94 Flatnose turbo and 996 facelift and dress up a welly 997 with wheels and custom interior color. But in the past few years, I am finding it very difficult to continue with the story. My mid-engine story with 986/987 probably has to stop there; my top ask is actually a GT4, not a 911 yet.

The other model with a interesting story and all the generations available in kit i can think of now is the Z.

This is true, although having owned five 924/944's I may be prejudiced. I used them daily in western Massachusetts' snow country carrying 8 foot 2x4's and a 911 just won't do that. Plus, 911 don't handle as well! I've kitted all with 3 still in the works. The '87 944 is a Testors because of the body and was converted to a normally aspirated.

Don't want to steal this thread, but ALL Porsche's are to die for!

Let's not ignore the 550 and 718 spiders. Lots of beautiful Carrera Panamericana versions to do!
