Re: Proton KR '06

Great work so far.
Why dont you use the poliester putty of Tamiya. I really like to use that . much better than the standard putty

hi guys, first of all I want to congratulate roca for the work he has done so far. very stunning and I guess time consuming. but I have a question, where do you get (order) those CGM Kits because this RACOON hp is only in japanese. is there another source, any hints would be welcome. thanks in advance and happy modeling

Re: Proton KR '06

Well guys, here is a little work, I have seen some areas that have to be polished so I hope to paint the frame as soon as I have all smooth.

Also I have to make this area more wide and I worked with the interior part of the frame to allow the engine to be there so this is one of the causes that I couldn't paint the frame.

geronimo, I have to test that putty
Bye
Roca.

I just emailed the site direct and got a reply from a guy called Kazuko. After an exchange of info to confirm what I wanted, I had to wait about 10 days. I then had another email confirming my order was ready and then paid via Paypal. Kazuko has been very helpful. My order is coming via EMS at about £11 to the UK for two kits.

Sorry to hijack your thread Roca...

Books, magazines, internet, and also my drawings made in corel draw. It takes (and I will tell you exactly, at least the date of the thread) From 11-02-2006 to now, so you can see how the work is.

Thank's guys for your comments.

Re: Proton KR '06

Ohh, really great progress Roca. From a guy that thinks it is pretty troublesome to erase the mold lines on a basic Tamiya kit I must say you are fantastic with your putty work!

Cant wait to see some review.
BTW i was considering to scratchbuild that bodywork. Wheels are not necessary because i have a lot of pictures and they used in every race the standard Y spoke wheels. The only question is the decal

Re: Proton KR '06

Thank you guys, the tank and the rear cowl are coming together like the frame... so I think that the frame and these cowls will be ready at the same time, I don't have pictures but all I can say is that the tank is very smooth

Roca.

Re: Proton KR '06

Well mates... I'm going to have more free time now so I just have some pictures. The last month I had a lot of exams, and I just worked on the past month a little bit every weekend. I know the project is far but every weekend is a little more close and of course it isn't dead.

As you can see I started with the radiator, anyway I hope to give to the cowl and to the frame a good coat of paint to cover all the surface, we will see how it looks

Sincerely I hope to have mounted at least the bike with the two wheels with the front and rear suspension, the frame, the swing arm and the tank/seat cowl done at the end of the summer.

Bye!
Roca.

Thank you Joel!! Well the tank and the seat are very smooth but I have some small holes on it that I have to fill them with putty. Also the parts where the seat fits to the frame have to be a little bit longer to be positioned correctly.
I spent a lot of time giving it that shape, I have to show you how I have my sandpaper after some time polishing with it the same piece

Next step as I said will be to polish that piece and give it a paint coat to the frame and the seat/tank, first, to see if everything is well polished , and second to give it a little bit more of thickness.

I hope to post more images soon

Bye
Roca
