if it doesnt work, i've found pretty good success using the small portable navigation software. i've used a tomtom 300 and it is small and unobtrusive on my windshield. i've heard teh tele atlas mapping software it uses is better than most in dash stuff too. it might save you some painful wiring too. when we had xm installed, it was kind of a mess.

i havent used roadmate before. does it use a touchscreen? i think that's my favorite part of the tomtom...that and the fact that I can get a yoda voice to direct me.

cool, i'll have to check it out. I've become a little bit of a nerd in using GPS devices. So far I've used the tomtom 300 (and 700) and the garmin i320. I've used the 300 the most and really prefer the teleatlas software that it uses over what the garmin maps

what maps do the roadmates use?

Yes the 2005 navi will work on you 2003 Denali. I had the same thing done to mine, (2005 navi to a 2003 Denali) it sounds great and looks great. just plug and play. make sure to have the GPS antenna installed.
