sealer over laquer?
once im done with the laquer primer on my cab, should i put sealer on it or can i leave just laquer, since it will be inside the garage all winter most likely. I dont think it will get wet so my paint supplier said it should be alright unless condensation gets on it or something. any ideas?

Don,t use laquer. Use urethane primer over etch or epoxy before topcoat. The fill properties, topcoat gloss holdout, chip resistance are excellent for urethane and non-existent for laquers.
Etch prime has to be re-coated in 4 hr. to 1 week, depending on type and brand selected. Bare metal can be coated with epoxy or etch. for a shop coat I would put it in epoxy for the winter, then next spring sand with 180 then apply urethane primer. |
