Re: Vanquish made obsolete by DB9

Congratulations on owning a DB9 Sloopy! You got one of my absolute dream cars! But regardless, I would definately prefer a Vanquish over a DB9 in terms of appearance (even though it is slight). The Vanquish looks fiercer, has sharper edges and the back is just STRAIGHT, making it more stylised. It also has bulging muscles around the quarter window on the back (which is larger than that of the DB9). In addition, the Vanquish tends to be slightly lower and shorter in length than the DB9. But I wouldn't pay an extra $AU200,000 for just this much enhancement and would get the DB9, which is more than good enough for me. I have to admit that both cars are very superior in contrast to most of the cars on the road (especially the Jap ones). But still, Sloopy knows the best as he actually got the machine at home!

Re: Vanquish made obsolete by DB9

Sorry to bump a really old thread but I had to read through it because I love the DB9.

The DB9 is probably the best looking car in the world. The Vanquish is fat and has a crap transmission. I can't see how driving a Vanquish would make you want one over a DB9, the DB9 has a great interior and the Vanquish just doesn't, Watch you dont burn a clutch because of the crappy transmission as well. The DB9 is a superior car al over the place and I'm not being biased even if it is my favourite car...Sloopy, you're my hero......lol

That's the S though, not the normal Vanquish.
And it's still got a crap gearbox and interior

Not according to the people who actually drove it.

I'd be suprised if the new S isn't out-selling the standard model.

Re: Vanquish made obsolete by DB9

I would get a Vanquish over a DB9 (if I had the money)for the same reason people get Lamborghini Murcielagos instead of Gallardos. More power. Period.

Re: Vanquish made obsolete by DB9

Personally, if I money wasnt an object, I'd buy the Vanquish S and a DB9 convertible, justfor good measure

p.s. I think it high time Aston came out with a good manual transmission to go along with the Vanquish. It deserves it!!!

The Vanquish is more scrace, but its just not only about this . It is also about prestige and power. Even 20 horses can make a big different.

Re: Vanquish made obsolete by DB9

Well, Aston Martin themselves thought its obsolete by introducing the more powerfull Vanquish S. That made more sense. Now ofcourse thats gone too. The new flagship is called DBS and seems like everybody wants one.
