Love the mirrors Rob, you absolutely outconcered yourself there in my opinion. Very nice. As for the wind screen I too would appreciate a tad lowered one. And why not go with Syntax Error and tint it a bit. How about yellow?

Re: 1/12 scale Suzuki Katana - Modified

I managed to finish off the mirrors last night!
I decided to paint them matt black to tone them down a bit. I'm pretty happy with the overall look so far!

All that's left to do is finish the rear brake set up, decide what to do about the windscreeen and give it a final polish!

Here's a couple of shots of the brake parts left to detail

Thanks

Thanks Rod.
You would think that having written the article for them I'd have seen a copy of the magazine? But apparently it's "in the mail"? SO.. I haven't even seen the article yet? I'll think twice next time before I write another article for TMMI?

Holy cow! Even surrounded by tools and other, real objects, I keep thinking you're posting reference pictures! Really! Absolutely stunning works.

Good grief, I had to double check to see if I was still on a modeling forum. Funny you say that, Will because in the begining of this thread I was constantly checking for reference to see if in fact I was looking at the model and not real parts, take the picture of the tank for instance. This is amazing, it's like I have no previous modelling experience because each new progress update is so beautifully done and nothing like what I'm used to seeing or expecting. I dont know how you do it but you sure do it with style and make it look so easy.

Re: 1/12 scale Suzuki Katana - Modified

I can't believe I missed this thread. How does that happen? I've just read it all from start to finish. The Katana looks amazing.Like the others I thought some of the pictures were the real bike. The matt black exhausts look good, you chose well with the colour Rob,better than the chrome.I think for the windscreen something small, like sort of a 'fly screen' is that what they call them? that I've seen fitted on some full size bikes.

This type of thing.

I think that would look really nice and maybe with some kind of tint on it.Just my opinion.
Your skills on the lathe continue to impress me no end.Look forward to your finishing this one.
