torque converter
On my 78 302 the torque converter is bolted to the flywheel, however I got a transmission from a salvage yard that had a torque converter placed inside the transmission. Would I have any problems if I took the converter off the flywheel and used the inset transmission one? The transmission is a C6

Your torque converter has to mount to your engine somehow eh? It's actually called a flexplate (manuals have a flywheel). You should be able to remove the toque converter from the trann by pulling it out. Then you have to mount it to your flexplate with the x amount of bolts.
