what can i expect to pay for a M3 clearbra?
i'm totally sold on getting a clearbra for my M3 front end. anyone know what partial coverage on my front end (hood front, bumper, fenders and healdights) will cost me for the product and for the install?
one of my buddies said he paid close to $2000 to have his full front end covered by a custom guy. i don't plan to pay nearly that much. if that's the only option, i guess i'll have to pass on it. |

i paid $400 for mine...
i paid about $400 for a custom protex clear bra. it covers the hood front, fenders, mirrors, and bumper--the areas most susceptible to damage. i also got some extra-thick stuff to protect the headlights, and some extra material to cover my doors' impact zones.
custom protex had the lowest prices i could find. they also use the guaranteed 3M material, had really clean designs, and found me an installer. the installation cost an additional $130 (2 hours at $65/hr). before i hit custom protex's website (www.customprotex.com), i was looking into having a custom cut clear bra installed. the guy quoted me $1400 for the full hood and bumper. i wasn't interested in paying that much--especially when they couldn't guarantee that the film wouldn't yellow or stick longer than 2 years. i've had the custom protex products on my car for over 6 months. i still can't tell that they're there, and they haven't let anything damage my car. |
