Veyron vs. Barubus

i like the veyron but i heard that the barabus kills it on top speed (253-274) and 0 to 60 (2.1 to 1.67) both have close horsepower 1001-1005 tho i don't know how well each handle

Re: Veyron vs. Barubus

I would pose the following questions in this 'debate'.

Which car will stand the test of time?

Which manufacturer's name carries more kudos in the eyes of the super rich that are both cars` likely target markets?

I had a conversation with a friend on the subject when the Veyron was launched. It basically ran along the lines of ... if you want to beat a Veyron in performance statistics, get a US muscle engine, turbo it, place it in a light chassis with an aerodynamic bodyshell - job done! This may seem simplistic, but exactly the same formula has been applied to the Barubus.

The Barubus however hasn't taken undisclosed multi-millions to test, refine and develop, and therefore I know where I, if I was so fortunate, would be placing my money on ... a horseshoe grilled Mulsheim bullet!

Re: Veyron vs. Barubus

The Brabus won't go as fast as they want it to, what limited the Veyron's top speed, the tyre's. The Veyron CAN go faster than it does, but VAG had to limit the engine because the tyre's wern't safe any faster. Who is Barabus tro just come out and say, "um yeah we can go 270mph", on what, dragster slicks? Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure it is possible to develop road legal tyre's that can go that fast, but they will not be good quality yre's to use day to day and they will likely cause death on anything but the dryest and smoothest roads. The same goes for the Barabus' 0-60 time, on anything but slick tyre's that's just not happning, it's rwd only so the power is going to be immensly hard to put down even at speeds of over 100mph, that car will be like a bomb waiting to go off if that guy's serious about building it and what it's capable of. My personal opinion is that he hopes to get the car faster than the Veyron, but that he'll fail.

Re: Veyron vs. Barubus

I think the Veyron handles much better then the Barubus. Just watch the Top Gear episode when James May reaches 407 km/h. It's so stabile at that hyper-speed...
