Originally known as project 118,the Jalpa featured the same chassis as the Silhouette. The Jalpa P350 featured a redesigned body, precise steering, and a new and improved 3.4 liter engine. Its steel body, centrally located engine and speed (the Jalpa traveled from 0-60 in 7.3 seconds) accounted for some of the Jalpa's appeal. Unlike the Urraco, it could be sold in the U.S. the Jalpa went on sale in 1982 at a list price of $58,000. By 1987, sales had declined and, after buiding 410 cars, production was halted by Lamborghini in July 1988. From: http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/s...a/history.html Jeff |
